A Long, Crazy, Exhausting, Wonderful Day

It was Amarillo by morning, sleeping in our truck, and waking up after about four hours, only to hit the road again. We were anxious to see our granddaughters and, even though my spine felt twisted like a pretzel, we set out with renewed determination.

We ran into the mother of all rainstorms in eastern Oklahoma, just as we were about to reach my home state. It was exhausting and frustrating to be so close and have to drive ten miles per hour due to the torrential downpour. It lasted for at least an hour and delayed our arrival. Quote of the day, “I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather be miserable with.” - author undisclosed.

Once we finally completed our trip and were joined by our daughter and granddaughters, joy overtook all other feelings and emotions. This was the reason we were here. We have arrived, we are travel weary, but we are so happy. Life is wonderful!

Romans 8:28 (NLT) - “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
