I don’t know about you, but I love homemade biscuits made from scratch! I read an interesting observation about them this morning. Consider what goes into the biscuits. None of the individual ingredients taste good by themselves. Try eating flour, baking powder, shortening, or any other ingredient and your taste buds will probably rebel. However, mix them together, put it into the oven, and they are transformed into a delicious treat.
Our nation is filled with millions of individual “ingredients” that, when taken alone, do not provide our nation what it needs to be its best. It takes all of us, working together, to make a perfect “biscuit”. The recipe is right, but sometimes we throw in the wrong ingredients or modify “mama’s” recipe and mess up the batch. It’s a strange or funny analogy but my point is that we are at our best when we work together.
God can take the ingredients of your life and make something great out of it. If you are like me, you have parts of your life that don’t taste so good. But every part of your life is mixed into the whole part of who you are. When God is finished with you, the result is good! The recipe for your life is in the Bible. Study it, follow it, and see how perfect it is!
