Imperfectly Perfect

If you think about all of the incredible accomplishments throughout history, you will realize that they were done by imperfect people. Our nation was born through the blood, sweat, and tears of patriotic men and women that sacrificed so much to obtain our freedom. These were not perfect people, but they were dedicated to an amazing cause that birthed the nation we live in today.

Many of our founding fathers were men of faith that prayed and sought God’s favor in forming our new country and its governance. They made mistakes along the way because they were human and therefore imperfect, but they devoted themselves to getting it right. History is filled with examples throughout the world of imperfect people accomplishing perfect things!

I believe that it is no coincidence that the Bible is filled with examples of people that God used to accomplish great things for his purposes. My favorite example is David. He was called a “man after God’s own heart” and yet, he made horrible mistakes… adultery, murder, lies, deceit, etc. He repented for all of these sins and God continued to use him in great and mighty ways. You can take encouragement from David’s example, and many other men and women in the Bible, that God will forgive you and use you for his purposes. You and I, imperfect people, are made perfect in his eyes when we confess our sins to him.

Hebrews 10:14 (NLT) - For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.
