Heroes

You can probably think of a person or persons that you consider to be a hero. But did you ever stop and think that you may be someone else’s hero? Heroes come in all shapes, sizes, and forms. I’m going to paraphrase part of the lyrics from an old Paul Overstreet song entitled Heroes that says it better than I ever could.

“He drives into the city and works extra hard all day. He finishes up early so he can get away. Because there's a blue-eyed kid on second base who wants Dad to watch him play. And Daddy knows he's waiting, so he hurries on his way.”

“She rocks her crying baby in the hours before dawn. She whispers words of hope to help her husband to hold on. She takes time for the children, making sure they know she cares. She's more than just a Momma, she's the answer to their prayers.”

”Now I don't pretend to know you, but I bet it's safe to say there's someone out there somewhere looking up to you today. And they see everything you do except for your mistakes. You may not think you measure up but you’ve got all it takes.”

“Because you know heroes come in every shape and size, making special sacrifices for others in their lives. No one gives them medals, the world doesn’t know their names, but in someone's eyes, they're heroes just the same.”

Never shortchange yourself. You are a hero to someone and they are looking up to you today. Let God be your hero. Look up to him always. He will never fail you or let you down!

Psalms 91:2 (NLT) - This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
