Today is my younger daughter’s birthday. Time is flying by at an incredible pace. She has two children of her own that are growing way too fast. My older daughter and her three kids further demonstrate how fast everything changes. My youngest is in his mid thirties. That should be my age!
All of this reinforces my belief that time is our most precious commodity. Each moment that passes cannot be recovered. I have the benefit of hindsight to see what I would have done differently, but I know I did the best I could do at the time. If you are currently raising children, or plan on having children, I urge you to give them every second of time that you possibly can. They will be grown and gone in the blink of an eye.
Time with God is so important and should be our top priority. I try to take the time to read the Bible and pray the first thing every morning. The next priority should be your precious family. That time will yield dividends that will be passed down to your children and their children. Time is precious!
Psalms 39:4-5 (NLT) - “Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered— how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.”
