Mountain Men

Ten men, one lodge, on a fishing trip in the mountains. What a recipe for… something! The area around Mammoth Mountain has no idea who or what is about to descend upon it. A group of Christian men who are tired and weary, but ready to laugh, joke, pull pranks on one another, catch a bunch of fish, tell a few lies about the one that got away, and have no real agenda for once.

I am certain we will share what’s on our hearts and minds in small groups or individually, even shed a tear or share a hug or two in the midst of all the laughter, but we will just be there to hang out together as men. God put this together and we will take time to thank him for who he is and for his bountiful blessings and the beautiful countryside he has arranged for us to gather in.

Men need time to get together to sharpen one another. There is something powerful that happens when godly men fellowship with one another and share their struggles and successes. It feels great to know that we all go through many of the same pressures and stresses in life.

You don’t have to go away for a weekend to have this kind of fellowship. Find a couple of men in your life and make plans to get together on a regular basis. It could be over a cup of coffee every week or two, whatever fits your combined schedules. Hold each other accountable and you will be amazed at how that affects your relationship with God in a positive way!
