Our society is in a constant state of change. The world today is not the world I grew up in nor is the world I grew up in the same one that my parents grew up in. It has been said that the only thing that is constant in life is change. Our morals, values, and ideas about almost everything changes with each generation.
Every individual decides for themselves whether they believe any given change is better or worse but, ultimately, God determines right or wrong. He created us and he sets the standards and they do not change from generation to generation. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We do not get to choose what is sin or what is not sin.
We can all think of many examples in our own country that we have legalized in recent years that the Bible clearly calls sin. Our laws say we can do it even though God says it is sin. Who changed their minds? We did… not God! We decided, as a nation, that we want to change our laws to allow us to do whatever it is that we decided we wanted to do. That is clear national rebellion against God when we do that.
I won’t write a laundry list of the sins listed in the Bible because most people know what they are anyway and the list would be very long. God did not call something sin to be mean and deprive us of something pleasurable. It is to keep us pure and holy and to protect us. He has a better plan for your life than to live a life of sin and rebellion.
Follow God and you will find that life is filled with joy and peace. He is consistent and faithful. He never changes!
