Our long-time neighbors depart tomorrow for their new home on the opposite coast. It is always hard to say goodbye, or see you later, to such wonderful friends. When the Bible tells you to love your neighbor, it is not hard to do with them. In fact, they make it very easy. That is why we are sad to see them move away.
It is for a very good reason because they will be moving closer to their kids. We will be the ones moving in the near future for the same reason, so that softens the sadness of our goodbye just a little bit.
We have made the most of every place the Lord has taken us. Get to know your neighbors and be a good neighbor wherever you are. Except for your own family, that is your closest mission field.
Mark 12:30-31 (NLT) - “And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.”
