Peaceful Sleep

Many things can come at us during the day and weigh on our minds as we lay down to sleep at night. Even a fun-filled day can leave our minds racing as we go to bed and try to shut off our brains so we can get some rest from an exhausting day. We need to be able to relax and get a restful, peaceful night’s sleep each night.

One certainty that we have, as Christians, is that God is watching over us as we sleep. We are his sheep and he is the Great Shepherd. Knowing that we have a loving Father that cares for us should be enough to help us rest in his protective arms each night.

The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5, verse 7, to give all our worries and cares to God because he cares about us. Take him at his word and fill your mind with those kind of thoughts as you lay your head on your pillow at night. May your sleep be peaceful and your body get the rest it needs over and over again.

Psalms 3:5 (NLT) - “I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me.”
