Children's Eyes

They say it all! They can’t be misinterpreted or their meaning hidden. My grandson asked me to download a specific app on our iPad for a game he wanted to play. It was his bedtime, so I promised him that I would do it in the morning. This morning he simply looked at me and said “Granddaddy?”

Not another word came from his mouth. I looked into his big brown eyes, pleading with me to do what I had promised. I knew exactly what he wanted and he didn’t even have to repeat his request. He had his granddaddy right where he wanted him! And, of course, it was a promise kept.

All children are pros at speaking with their eyes. The eyes convey every emotion and may contradict what the mouth speaks. They show happiness, sorrow, joy, hurt, laughter, and tears. They are truly windows to the soul. Professional interviewers may often read the eyes to determine deception. The eyes are the video camera that captures all the sights implanted deep in the memories of our brain.

God watches over us constantly. His eyes never leave us as he guards and protects us. He looks upon us with a love that cannot be compared.

Psalms 34:15 (NLT) - “The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.”
