Have you ever had someone arrive at your house at a time when you least expected it and found out later that you missed them because you were busy and didn’t hear them knocking? I have had that happen a number of times. Most often, it was when I was either playing music, or in the back part of the house or outside in the back yard, or doing something that kept me from hearing their knock.
Of course, today we have doorbells, but the point is the same. If we are not expecting someone, we will often be caught up in our busyness to hear someone knocking. Jesus knocks at the door of everyone’s heart and wants them to open the door and invite him in. Don’t let the sounds of the world drown out his voice as he calls out to you. Let him in and he will give you eternal life!
Can you hear him knocking?
Revelation 3:20 (NLT) - “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”
