What would it look like to be as innocent as children? My younger daughter sent me a pic of my granddaughter yesterday that cracked me up. She was looking over the back of their couch and all I could see was from her eyeballs up. She declared joyfully, "Mommy, I'm not on my tippy toes!"
That is the gleeful innocence of a child excited about the realization that she has grown up enough to be able to see over the back of the couch without standing on the tips of her toes. While adults argue and bicker over political issues, who hates who, who is right or wrong, and even which denominations are missing the boat, she can see over the back of the couch!
In my unbiased opinion, she is a shining, bright light in the world, along with all the other innocent children. God even uses her as an example for us to follow. Our lives should be clean and innocent, just like hers. We get too caught up in ourselves and the importance of our opinions and lose sight of what really matters.
Let us be a shining light in a world full of darkness!
Philippians 2:15 (NLT) - "Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people."
