We have all heard that expression many times before. I have thought about it a lot lately. After a whole lot of hard work, we finally put our rental house up for sale this week. That house was our home twenty years ago. We lived in it for six years prior to moving into our current home. We have a lot of memories invested in that house we once called home.
The last twenty years in our current house are filled with even more memories and we will be selling it in the near future and calling some other house our home. We move our hearts with us and invest ourselves in whatever situation we are in at the time. Wherever we live becomes home because we pour our hearts into that house and the community that surrounds it.
We have moved from six different states and one foreign country in 39 years. Our hearts have been uprooted from one place only to be settled in another. Each time, we have chosen to make our new destination home.
Apply this in all your circumstances. Wherever God has placed you, in whatever circumstances you are facing, let him guide your heart and direct your steps. You will be amazed at how everything will ultimately turn out for you if you have given your heart to him.
Psalms 108:1 (NLT) - "My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart!"
