Spending time with the “guys” at a lodge this weekend really made me think about my boys. When I say my boys, I’m talking about my son and my grandson. My son is actually a man now and he lives in Arkansas. My grandson lives way out on the right coast in Florida. For now, I’m on the left coast in California. I plan to change that in the near future and join my son in Arkansas, so I will be able to spend more time with them.
All of my children and grandchildren are special to me, but my boys and I are greatly outnumbered by the girls! It would be awesome if the three of us boys could spend some guy time together in the future and create some special memories. Those are special boys with huge hearts and I love them with all that is within me. They are alike in so many ways and I would give anything to spend a lot of quality and quantity time with them.
I want to invest as much time in them as I can, impart what I know to them, let them teach me some things, and just have fun with them. I want them to know how much I love, cherish, and adore them. Most importantly, I want them… and all of my children and grandchildren… to see Christ in me and know him on a deep and personal level and serve him throughout their lifetimes. If I accomplish that, then I have accomplished everything!
Isaiah 59:21 (NLT) - “And this is my covenant with them,” says the LORD. “My Spirit will not leave them, and neither will these words I have given you. They will be on your lips and on the lips of your children and your children’s children forever. I, the LORD, have spoken!”
