For those of you that remember what a camera is, this is good - “Life is like a camera. Focus on what is important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t turn out, take another shot.”
Think about all of those family photos your mother always wanted to take over and over again until everyone had that perfect smile. She wanted to capture the perfect moment to preserve that time forever. If someone moved, stuck out their tongue, or made rabbit ears over their brother, you had to regroup and do it all over again. In today’s digital camera and cell phone camera world you can discover that right away. When all is not perfect, you can immediately take another shot until you get it right.
Our attitude about life should be the same way. Stay focused on what is important and, even though we are going to make mistakes, keep going until we get it right. God knows we aren’t perfect, but he never wants us to stop trying. He encourages us to press on toward the mark like a runner in a race. When we make mistakes and learn from them, it develops good character in us, and makes us stronger as we re-focus on our purpose and goal. If things don’t turn out, then take another shot!
Philippians 3:14 (NLT) - “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”
