Where the Grass is Greener

Grass is always greener… not just on the other side, but wherever you are, if you weed it, fertilize it, and water it. Don’t let the weeds of discontentment sprout up and take over. You must pull them out by the roots at first sight or they will choke out the good growth.

Good and healthy growth requires proper nourishment and watering. Tend to the grass on your side and discover how green it will become. The point I’m making is that you can find joy and contentment wherever you are in the season that God plants you in a place, whether it’s short term, long term, or permanent.

We have moved many times in my two careers and, in most cases, did not want to move on. But we found such joy and contentment in each place we have lived. Some moves were desirable locations, others were not, but we made the most out of each new home. We made the grass greener wherever we lived (I suppose that is more metaphorically at our current home in the desert)!

Jeremiah 17:8 (NLT) - “They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
