Fire and Snow

Thanksgiving Day is setting up to be a crazy one for us. The forecast calls for snow where we live, so we will potentially have to drive up over the mountains to get to our dinner destination with family in Santa Barbara through slippery conditions. Possibly waiting on the other end are the fires that are currently raging in that area as I’m writing this. Our prayer is that the rains predicted for tomorrow come through and assist the fire fighters in getting that under control. Of course, then their concern is for mudslides. California can be a crazy place!

We are so thankful that God watches over us and our family through any perils that come our way. We go through life with a peace in our hearts that, no matter what comes our way, he is with us to extinguish the fiery darts of the enemy. God can handle any situation, whether it is in the physical or spiritual realm. He goes before us to make our paths safe and he is our rear guard to protect us from a pursuing enemy.

Don’t allow circumstances around you to steal your joy when you know you are a child of the Lord of heaven and earth. Stand firm on his promise that he will never leave you or forsake you. It is amazing how he continually works all things out for his glory as he watches over his children!

Psalms 139:5 (NLT) - “You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.”
