Lately, I’ve renewed my efforts to do this and I’ve seen dramatic changes happen in my life. It really does take effort to change old habits and, in the process, I realize how selfish I am with my time and resources. This doesn’t mean that you have to give God all of your time and all of your resources, just put him first and he will bless you more than you can imagine.
It’s the same principle as tithing… giving him the first fruits of your labor, or the first ten percent of your income. Giving out of joy, with a cheerful and thankful heart, will reap a bountiful harvest of blessings from God. He wants to bless his children, but he will never take from them. He gladly pours out his favor on those who willingly put him first in their lives and give of themselves, along with their time and resources. So put God first and watch your life change!
Matthew 6:33 (NLT) - “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
