It was just perfect as my plane flew into Arkansas yesterday afternoon. As I looked down upon the lush, green countryside from my window seat, a peace came over me and it felt right. This is my native state and where my roots grew deep through my childhood and formative years.
My wife and sister-in-law picked me up at the airport and we drove to the lake house. As I walked in the front door, it immediately felt like home, even though the plan is for it to be a vacation rental for at least the first couple of years. My son was there and it was wonderful to spend some time with him, catching up on lost time, with plenty more of that to come today!
This morning, I’m writing my blog from my lakeside patio, ten feet from the lake. This is how it’s meant to be! I could get used to this. The only noise is the sound of crickets, bullfrogs, and birds. God’s voice somehow gets through better without all the distractions that come with my normal life in the city and back at work. This should be my knew norm!
Wherever you are, find a quiet place to get closer to God and fellowship with him. Draw near to him and he will draw near to you. I believe I have found my place!
1 John 5:20 (NLT) - “And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.”
