There are lots of things that I crave, especially while I’m dieting. I crave just about any kind of seafood. There are a few desserts that I would love to eat. Ice cream is my weak spot, with chocolate chip being my favorite. I’m making myself hungry just bringing this up!
What other kinds of cravings do we have? Some people crave attention. Still others crave solitude or pity. It could be any desire that wells up from deep inside us and dominates our thoughts and actions. Our behavior often reflects our cravings.
Our biggest craving, our deepest desire should be our relationship with God. We should be consumed with our Creator rather than the things he created. Wherever we go or whatever we do should be governed by what effect it will have on our walk with God. Is it a good thing and will it please him or is it in disobedience to his Word? Will it have an impact on my testimony? Those thoughts will help you make decisions as you go through life if you are craving a strong, wonderful relationship with God.
2 Timothy 1:9 (NLT) - “For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from the beginning of time - to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.”
