Those mean little mites love fresh meat and I was apparently a ready donor. When the environment is just right, they come out in droves. You can’t see them, but the evidence is there, on your skin. Little red bumps, that itch, usually form around your legs and waistline.
If you treat them at first sign, then you can find relief in short order and carry on in peace. If not, you’ll have to resist the urge to scratch that itch, which is a constant reminder that the little critters were once there. They have left their itchy mark , which will fade in time.
Proper preparation would have prevented me from getting bitten, but I came unprepared, having forgotten the lessons from my youth. I was quickly reminded!
Spiritual warfare is much the same. The enemy is hard to see if you are not prepared or forget the things you have learned from God’s Word. He will definitely leave a mark on your life and leave you itching for more of the sinful pleasures that he wants to deceive you with.
God has all you need to prepare for the attack of the enemy so you can repel his assault and to heal your wounds if you have allowed him to get through. Stay prepared for battle by immersing yourself in the Word and through fellowship with him and fellow believers.
