If you are like me, an imperfect and unworthy person who is seeking after God, saved by his grace, then you are not some religious hypocrite, you are a Christian. You don’t have to obtain perfection and some lofty ideal of purity or holiness to wear that title. All you need is to be a follower of Christ, one who has received him in your heart, and who is diligently seeking him. You will never be perfect, but you should seek perfection.
Always remember who you are following and who you put your faith in. If a church causes you to lose faith in God, then your faith was in people, not God. People are like you and me. They will sometimes let you down in their walk with God. Hopefully, it is unintentional. But if your faith is in God and your focus is on him, you will never be disappointed. His Word is true and unchanging.
Never stop seeking God and his will for your life. Come just as you are to him. He will receive you and accept you. If you stumble, he will catch you and set you back on solid ground. We haven’t had our first Sunday in this new year or decade. If you don’t have a church home yet, find one and go this Sunday. Be a part of a fellowship and grow together with your brothers and sisters in Christ. That’s all part of being a Christian. We all need each other!
