Undercover Christian

Do people that know you readily identify you as a Christian or at least “accuse” you of being one? If it were a crime, would there be enough evidence to convict you of being a Christian? Or are you an undercover Christian? Maybe you don’t want to be exposed to people as “one of them” for fear of ridicule or mockery.

I’m not pointing fingers here. I have kept quiet about my faith on many occasions, for just that reason, until I felt the conviction rise up so much that I had to speak up. It’s very humbling to see someone in shock when they find out that you are a Christian. I would rather they be shocked to find out that I was not! It is really easy to speak out on Facebook or in a blog about my identity in Christ, but much more difficult to do it face to face with someone.

It is much easier to do as an old(er) adult now because I realize how foolish it is to be influenced by others when it comes to something as important as my salvation and eternity. I have witnessed God’s hand in my life for so many years now and I believe his word is true. I have seen, first-hand, his miraculous answers to prayers and intervention in situations that demonstrate his great love for his children. I want everyone to answer the call to follow Jesus.

Romans 1:16 (NLT) - “For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes - the Jew first and also the Gentile.”
