My favorite Lakers fan broke the news to me today. My daughter texted a link to a news article that reported the story of Kobe Bryant’s helicopter crash that tragically took his life, along with his daughter’s and several others today. My heart sank.
In the hours since, my mind has been flooded with wonderful memories of watching Lakers games with my daughter during Kobe’s golden era and five championships. We attended two games at the Staples Center and got to see him play live. Those are memories I’ll cherish with her forever.
My prayers are with Kobe’s wife, their other children, his family, friends, and former teammates as they deal with his loss. My heart and prayers go out to the others who were aboard the helicopter as well. I don’t know who they were as I write this. I pray that all who tragically died in the crash knew Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Thanks for the memories, Kobe!
