The Greatness of Home

Traveling is always a lot of fun, but we all know how great it is to get home. When you lay your head on the pillow in your own bed the world seems right. The familiarity of your surroundings and the security of home are feelings that you don’t need to describe to anyone. We all know what that’s like. It is often said that home is where the heart is and, when you move, you make your new house your home. Just the word home sounds warm and inviting.

A house is a place with four walls and doesn’t become a home unless it is filled with love and peace. It should be a place of refuge for its occupants. Make sure your house is a home. Bless and welcome those who enter it and protect the ones you love as you shelter them from life’s storms. May your children never dread coming home, even when they grow up and have homes of their own. Fill their memories with times of happiness and family unity.

God will one day call us all to our Heavenly home. That will most certainly be a welcoming place for all of His children that have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Even now, He tells us to lay all our burdens and fears at His feet. Rest in the peace that surpasses all understanding. Give your heart a home as you give it to Him!

Colossians 3:15 (NLT) - “And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”
