No Place Like Home

“Be it ever so humble, there is no place like home.” I’m not sure where that phrase came from but it certainly rings true for me. There is no place like home. As I sit here in the early morning stillness and quiet of our great room I feel such peace and comfort. I am home and so grateful for it. I have to be away a lot and it makes me appreciate being home all the more.

I don’t know if I consider it “ever so humble” but it’s certainly not flashy or fancy. There is so much more we want to do to improve on it, but it fits us and it’s ours. We have a roof over our heads and live in a beautiful location. It’s a wonderful gathering place for our children and grandchildren. Home is where the heart is and our hearts are there.

God teaches us to be good stewards of what we have been blessed with. I am so thankful for His provision and blessings. I can show my thankfulness and appreciation by taking care of what I have and not being jealous or envious of others. My focus should be on what I have and not on what I lack. God is my provider and sustainer. My home is nothing without His presence. May His peace be upon all who enter here!

Luke 10:5 (NLT) - Whenever you enter someone’s home, first say, “May God’s peace be on this house.”
