Waiting Patiently

Waiting is not always easy, especially when you are nervous, anxious, excited, or afraid. Waiting on God to answer your prayers can be very difficult. Sometimes I feel like He isn’t hearing my prayers or doesn’t understand the gravity of my situation. Doesn’t He know the urgency of my need or see the depth of my despair? That kind of thinking implies that God is not in control or is not fair. God is worth waiting for. He does hear my prayers and he is fair. Use the time of waiting to discover what God may be trying to teach you in situations like these.

David knew from his own personal experience what it meant to wait for the Lord. He was anointed as king when he was just 16-years old, but he didn’t become king until he was 30. During this time that he was waiting patiently for the Lord, he had many opportunities to take the position he was anointed for. He chose not to because Saul was the Lord’s anointed. David was chased through the wilderness by an angry, jealous King Saul. Still, he chose to wait for the Lord to fulfill his promise to reign.

I must ask the Lord to forgive me for my times of doubt and lack of trust. I need Him to help me wait patiently and know that all things will work together for my good in His time. He has never failed me and He never will!

Psalm 27:14 (NLT) - “Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.”
