On the Road Again

We are westbound, hopefully for the last time by car. Today and tomorrow we’ll be on our grueling drive back to California. This was definitely more enjoyable when we were younger, but we’re making the most of it. Back in the day, I did the vast majority of the driving on our cross country trips, but I’m not ashamed to admit that I don’t mind trading off frequently.

These trips give us plenty of time to plan and talk. We truly love each other’s company and enjoy spending time together. It’s a good thing, because this drive is a long one! It’s hard not to focus on the miles ahead, especially when exhaustion starts to take over. Each “next city” seems to get further and further away.

During our eastward journey a couple of weeks ago, we were battling heavy thunderstorms. Today we’re wrestling with high crosswinds. That is having an adverse affect on our energy levels and our gas mileage. Please pray that the Lord calms the winds as we continue our trip home. I’ll check in tomorrow for day two!

Matthew 8:27 (NLT) - “The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”

We Made It!

That Last Full Day
