I’ve gone through much of my life trying to make changes in routines and habits in order to achieve personal goals. Most of those involve things such as doing more cardio exercises, resistance training, dieting, or anything else to improve my health or appearance. When I was younger, I did these things with ease and regularity. As I accomplished my goals, my physical appearance changed and I felt better about myself. My whole attitude and demeanor changed. You might say that I changed from the outside in.
Now that I’m older and wiser, I realize that now, more than ever, I still need to take care of my physical body, but it’s more important that I take care of my soul. My focus should be primarily on seeking the kingdom of God above all else. The Word tells us to set our minds on things above, not on earthly things. I need to earnestly and diligently seek Him and ask Him to change me from the inside out!
Romans 12:2 (NLT) - “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
