Chatting is simply a light friendly conversation. We do it all the time. Technology has brought an additional meaning to it by using computers and cell phones for chat instead of face to face. There are chat rooms where you can talk to multiple people at once. A chatbot or chatterbot is a software application used to conduct an online chat conversation via text or text-to-speech, in lieu of providing direct contact with a live human agent. Obviously, this takes away so much of the human contact that we need in our lives.
There is a new technology making the news today called ChatGPT. It is a natural language processing tool driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology that allows you to have human-like conversations and much more with the chatbot. It is scary how fast it is growing and there is much debate on the potential dangers of AI taking over our lives (hmm… think about the Terminator movies). Seriously though, I am saddened by how much technology has taken away our ability or will to sit down and chat face to face.
God desires to chat with you. He wants daily conversation with you because he loves fellowship with his children. That comes through prayer and reading his Word. Find a quiet place and set aside quiet time to sit with him and listen. Give him praise, share your needs, tell him everything, and read your Bible. Have a chat with God. He hears you!
