I used to love Gummy Bears. I don’t know why because there is absolutely no nutritional value in them. But it seems there are so many uses for gummies these days that purport to do amazing things for you. There are weight loss gummies, CBD gummies, and probably others I’m not aware of yet.
If you are a sucker for the commercials on TV and ads on social media, we may not need to worry about exercise and diet ever again. There is a pill, powder, or gummy for everything out there. I think I’ll take some Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Gummies and watch all my fat melt away in a matter of days, take a beet powder to unclog all my arteries, and take some Balance of Nature pills to get all the fruits and veggies I need. I’ll be making some manufacturers rich in the process. This is foolishness.
God’s Word tells us to be wise and not foolish. The book of Proverbs is full of wisdom and guidance. I used to read one chapter per day every month from Proverbs. There are 31 chapters, so seven months in the year allow for one chapter per day. I doubled up on the shorter months. I need to get back to that and I encourage you to join me.
Proverbs 1:1-5 (NLT) - “These are the proverbs of Solomon, David’s son, king of Israel. Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise. Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair. These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young. Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance.”
