High Costs

Prices for everything have gone up steadily, and sometimes dramatically, over the last couple of years. Adjustments to my retirement income do not keep up with the cost of living increases. My investments are in a constant state of fluctuation as our nation’s economy remains in a state of uncertainty during these hard economic times.

Am I worried? No. Am I concerned? Yes, but I’m not panicked or stressed. I believe and trust in God’s promises for those obedient in tithing. We have been faithful and joyful in our giving for many years and He has sustained us through many tough times. I know He will continue to do so.

So I will not fear the higher costs and the current economy because I know who sustains me. Christ, who paid the highest cost of all, sacrificed Himself on the cross for my sins. He paid a debt He did not owe for my debt that I could not pay. I will trust in Him!

1 Corinthians 7:23 (NLT) - “God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.”
