I Love America

Happy Independence Day my fellow Americans! On July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence, which declared the thirteen original colonies as a new nation, free from British control. I love America and the principles upon which it was founded. The founding fathers acknowledged God as sovereign and the One on whom they must rely in order for the nation to survive.

I love the atmosphere of family, joy, and celebration as fireworks and the smell of barbecues fill the air. I have the pleasure of celebrating with my favorite World War Two veteran today… my father. It’s our veterans, from the Revolutionary War through today, that have given us our freedom and independence.

Let us never forget that God is the builder of nations and He will allow a nation to tear itself apart when it turns its back on Him. Pray for our country, pray for its leaders from top to bottom, and pray that we turn our hearts toward the Lord. God bless America!

Galatians 5:13 (NLT) - “For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.”
