Home Town Patriotism

My home town has a population of a little over 10,000 according to the city limit sign. I think somewhere between ten to twenty percent of the population attended the Star Spangled Spectacular concert and fireworks show last night. My people showed up!

It warmed my patriotic heart to see so many people turn out, adorned in red, white, and blue to celebrate our country’s birthday. Honor was appropriately given to our veterans and first responders. There were food trucks, a bounce house, and two awesome bands. The grand finale was the spectacular fireworks show that did not disappoint. This was American pride at its finest!

I love Small Town USA! I’m sure towns across America were celebrating simultaneously with us. We must not let love of God and country fade. I thank God for His guiding hand in forming and sustaining our nation. May our hearts continually beat true for the red, white, and blue!

Psalms 33:12 (NLT) - “What joy for the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his inheritance.”
