I just spent almost an hour talking to my dad on the phone. The time went by so fast that I didn’t realize how long we had been talking. We speak occasionally during the week, but always about the same time every Saturday morning. He expects that call to come in from me at approximately the same time every Saturday.
I led the conversation with, “What are you up to today, Dad?” His response was, “Just had my phone sitting next to me waiting for a certain someone to call me this morning!” I could tell from his cheerful voice that he looks forward to my calls and the regularity of it. It’s the same thing from my big brother when he calls him almost daily while he’s on his way home from work. My dad really looks forward to those phone calls. It is important for him to hear from his children.
Our Heavenly Father loves to hear from us daily and regularly. He looks forward, with eager anticipation, to hearing from all his children. He doesn’t care if we bring him great news or bad news, he just wants to hear from us each and every day. The sound of our voice is pleasing to him. He loves us and cares for us, so reach out to him. He is waiting to hear from you!
