For those of you that had to read George Orwell’s “1984”, I am sure you remember the mantra that “big brother is watching you”. That, of course, is still used today to indicate that the government is watching you. Many people fear that it is true, especially given the technology age that we live in today. We have given up much of our privacy for the convenience of using the gadgets that we so love and enjoy, such as our cell phones, tablets, and everything else that is controlled by a tiny and powerful computer chip.
What we should have the most reverent fear of has been true since we were created. The Creator knows all and sees all. It is not big brother watching you that you need to concern yourself with... Dad is watching you! Our Heavenly Father sees everything you do, knows every thought that you have, and the motive behind every decision that you make. You really do not have any privacy from God. There is no place you can run or hide from him.
In fact, you need to run to God and seek shelter in him. Since he knows it all anyway, he simply wants you to confess it all to him and he is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins. He loves you and always wants and knows what is best for you. Take comfort in his watching over you!
Proverbs 5:21 (NLT) - “For the Lord sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes.”
