Gravity

I am a little bit late posting my blog today because I unintentionally attempted to defy something that was not meant to be defied by us mortal humans. You guessed it... I attempted to defy gravity while stepping from a ladder towards my intended destination. It was a retaining wall almost the exact same height as the step ladder I was standing on. I totally missed the wall.

Not to worry though, I broke the fall with my right leg fully extended. It didn't make for a good shock absorber in that position, however, so the jarring action was quite severe. Praise the Lord, there was no tearing or breaking in the process according to the X-rays. I will have to wait until Monday to have an MRI confirm everything, but I am thankful that some rest and Aleve should take care of the rest for now.

What is the take from this morning's urgent care run? God designed us a certain way. Our body was created to move in natural directions and motions beautifully and wonderfully. We pay the consequences when we alter that direction. Each part has its own unique function and role to play and the whole body is affected when one part is injured.

It is the same with the body of Christ. Each one of us is important and plays a significant role. Not everyone is out front or visible, but each one is vital to God. The body needs each one to play their part in order to be whole and complete. If you do not know what your part is, ask God to reveal that to you. You are important and you matter!

1 Corinthians 12:21 (NLT) - And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."
