We spent a wonderful day visiting family in Santa Barbara today. I love the drive along the Pacific coast as the sun begins its descent in the west. My wife was recently on the east coast visiting our daughter and her family there, so she has literally driven from sea to shining sea.
We are blessed to live in a country with such amazing beauty in an incredible variety of geographic, topographic, and climate changes as you travel across this great land mass.
It’s harder to truly appreciate it if you drive like me on these trips and are rushing to make it from Point A to Point B. I tend to zoom right past our national treasures and natural landmarks. I have stopped at some of them, but not nearly enough.
Sometimes my Bible devotions are the same way. I zoom right through and miss some of the treasures God has in there for me. It’s best when I slow down and study an area to see all that is in it for me to learn about. Every time I go back, I even find something I missed the last time I was there.
So, experience this country from sea to shining sea and God’s Word from cover to cover. You’ll learn something new each time!
