Defeat the Giants!

That’s certainly my expectation when the Cowboys come off their bye week and play them next week, but that’s not what I’m talking about here. Remember the story of David and Goliath? As he stood their taunting them, the Israelites saw only a giant. David, unlike the rest of his people, saw a mere mortal man defying almighty God. He knew he wouldn’t be alone when he faced Goliath. More than just the fact that he had killed a lion and a bear while watching sheep, David knew that God would be with him.

We all have our own giants to face as we go through our lives. If we look at these giants through our own eyes, they may seem unbeatable. We are tempted to avoid the giant or even accept defeat. Until we defeat the giant, it will always be there taunting us. If we see impossible situations from God’s point of view, we can fight more effectively.

Let the Lord show you the giants in your life. Put your trust in him and don’t look at your situation in fear. Run toward the enemy with God at your side, strike down the giant and cut off his head. He can no longer taunt you without his head! The battle belongs to the Lord and he will give you the victory!
