Deep Love

I’ve taken a lot of time this morning to reflect on each of my children. When I think about how deeply I love each of them and how much I miss them, it naturally saddens me that we live so far apart.

But instead of dwelling on that, I’ve been flooded with memories of each of their years as infants. It would be so wonderful to go back in time for a few hours with each one, one at a time, and hold them in my arms. I would look into those beautiful, trusting eyes and tell them how deeply their daddy loves them.

I tried to do that every day as we raised them. I still do, every chance I get. I don’t do it just for the sake of doing it. I tell them that I love them because I really do, I never want them to doubt it, and all children, no matter their age, need to hear it.

I find it hard to believe, but we have a Heavenly Father that loves us more than I love my children. That sounds impossible to me, but his Word says it’s true, so I believe it. The Bible is his love story to his children. Look up into his eyes as he says to you, “I love you!”

Lamentations 3:22 (NLT) - “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.”
