Life really should be all about the people in our lives and not the things we have accumulated. Sometimes our stuff occupies our time and priorities instead of people. It takes time and money to acquire and maintain things. The more we get the more time we have to devote to care for those possessions. A great number of these are necessities for sustaining our families, but a large portion are wants versus needs.
My wife and I are blessed with so many things after years of hard work. We have been apart for several weeks now as she works on a vacation rental that we purchased and I realize how incredibly lonely I am without her. I can have all the things I want but nothing means anything without her by my side. So it’s people, not things, that are the most important part of our lives!
That is why God calls us to fellowship with one another. We are not to be loners and outsiders. If you are not part of a local church, it is vital to find one and become active and involved. Engage with your spouse, your family, your friends, and your church. Invest more time with people and less time with things and your life will be greatly enriched!
