You certainly are not expected to be thankful for all of the circumstances you are in, but you are called to be thankful in the midst of your circumstances. No matter what you are going through at any given time, God will see you through. Sometimes it is hard to see that while you are going through a storm, but he is with you and will never abandon you. Take comfort in that and be thankful.
So when times are good and when times are bad, be thankful to our Lord who is merciful. Because of him you can face anything and stand strong in the midst of a storm. He is our refuge and our strength and our help comes from him. So be thankful at all times!
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT) - “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
