Yesterday we all shared the holiday we call Thanksgiving Day, where we take time off to celebrate and be thankful for all that we have been blessed with. We should continually give thanks to God every day, not just one day of the year. He wants to bring us so much joy that we can’t contain it all. Our joy should be contagious, spreading to those around us.
When I take the time to sit still and think of all the blessings God has given me, I really do get thrilled and excited. It’s just hard to force myself to sit still long enough to do that! My grandchildren bring unbelievable joy into my life. I thank God for them, but the greatest joy of all is that he is our Father, he sent his Son to die for our sins, and he gave us the Holy Spirit to be our comforter.
We should wake up in the morning with praise on our lips for him, proclaiming unfailing love for our Heavenly Father. We should take time throughout the day to praise him and go to bed with praise in our hearts for him. Yesterday, I took extra time to think about all that I was thankful for and today I am still thankful. Are you?
