Randomness

You don’t need a reason or excuse for everything you do. Sometimes it’s a great idea be spontaneous and surprise a spouse or a child with a gift, flowers, a special dinner on the town, or any number of treats for no special occasion. The unexpected adds an element of excitement and turns the ordinary into something extraordinary.

Birthdays, Christmas, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, and any “Hallmark” holiday are times when gifts may be expected. Randomness happens on dates and times when least expected. It shows the person that you love and care for them, not just on special occasions, but throughout the year. These acts of love may be simple, little things or extravagant. Spread them out at various times all year long to keep your spouse and children off-guard.

Make someone smile each day and give them a reason for hope. The world wants to focus on troubling times and negative things when we have so much to be thankful for and incredible joy in living a life in Christ. Be a light shining in the darkness, always ready to lift someone up and show them love and kindness. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you to a random stranger and do or say that simple thing that will show them that someone cares for them. Practice randomness!

Hebrews 13:2 (NLT) - “Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!”
