This is a common word or concept that everyone is familiar with and uses frequently. There have been six or seven Transformer movies made. My grandson loves to watch the cars and trucks transform into metal monsters, some are good guys and some are bad guys. The simple definition of transform is to change in form, appearance, or structure; metamorphose or “morph”, in common slang. Another is to change in condition, nature, or character; convert.
Trees, flowers, caterpillars, vegetables, and so many other things in nature go through a transformation as they go through various stages in their life cycles. Often the new thing doesn’t resemble the old thing at all, such as when a caterpillar morphs into a butterfly or a seed sprouts and transforms into a watermelon. One of the most amazing and miraculous transformations we witness is the one that takes place in humans, from conception in the womb through birth, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. It’s a marvelous process that God created!
He tells us in His Word to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. That means we can change our old way of thinking, when we were lost and living in sin, and become new creatures. We can change our habits and our character by following God and walking according to His will and Word. Be transformed!
Romans 12:2 (NLT) - “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
