Last evening we had a live group chat among some of our church family, which was hosted and led by our pastor. It was positively weird. Let me explain what I mean by that. It’s weird because we have to meet like that instead of face to face, but positive because we all missed each other. We have only missed one live Sunday service since the social distancing trend began. There were some tears shed among the group as we all came to the realization of how much we each treasure being in the physical presence of one another.
It seemed that no one wanted to end the session. It was difficult to talk at times because it was like 20 people trying to talk at once on a walkie talkie, but our pastor moderated it well. We shared prayer requests and praise reports of things we had witnessed during this pandemic. There were adults, children, a toddler, and even a couple of dogs… such a precious time. It was much better than any television show or movie!
You can do this with a group of friends and neighbors to get you through until social distancing ends. Just imagine the joy awaiting us when this all ends and we have our reunions. Find creative ways to connect, not just outside your home, but with your family inside your home. Be positively weird!
