Dog Parks

Our lives these days seem to revolve around our dog, Cooper. Everything we do has to be scheduled and coordinated with him in mind. He is quite a character and has brought so much fun into our world. It wasn’t until recently that we discovered and began using the local dog park. I have never had the privilege of going to one of these facilities and I admit that I wasn’t thrilled about the idea at first.

Cooper has absolutely fallen in love with the place. We go twice each day, once in the morning and once in the late afternoon. He has adopted it as a routine and nudges us when it is time to go. He gets so excited on the drive over and dances around in the car with anticipation the closer we get. The interaction between his new friends and him is often hilarious and heartwarming as they run and frolic around the park. We have also made a lot of new acquaintances with the other dog owners (although we don’t run and frolic around the park). We love watching our dogs having fun and getting their exercise. Cooper is exhausted when he gets home, which is another great perk!

Our busy schedule often interrupts us from the chance to socialize with other people. Going to the dog park has given us a chance to meet and visit with folks. We were meant for fellowship and not to be loners. God designed us that way when he created us. Being with others is good for us and we should not separate ourselves and be alone. At the very least, get a dog and go find a dog park!

Hebrews 10:25 (NLT) - And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
