When we invest in something or someone it is usually with the expectation of receiving a positive return on our investment. There are no guarantees that it will pan out and yield the desired outcome. It often requires patience, endurance, and wise counsel to make a good investment.
Investing in the stock market requires diligent research and careful analysis or the use of a trusted advisor to make good decisions. Investing in people takes wisdom, discernment, patience, and love. An investment of your time should include an evaluation of your other commitments and priorities. In other words, investing should not be spontaneous or haphazard. It should be carefully thought out and executed.
God has invested in us. He sent His one and only Son to die for our sins. That was the ultimate investment, carefully planned and executed by our Heavenly Father. The return on His investment is a harvest of souls. Each person that receives Christ as Lord and Savior is added to the Kingdom and brings great joy to Him. Believers multiply the “investment” by sharing the Good News and leading others to Christ.
Ecclesiastes 11:2 (NLT) - “But divide your investments among many places, for you do not know what risks might lie ahead.”
